After "The Mitty", SarWood Racing sits in 3-way tie for 9th place
April 29th, 2007

Braselton, GA - Chris Sarian places 14th out of 27 cars at the second race of the SCCA Pro Racing SIRIUS Satellite Radio Mazda MX-5 Cup, part of the 30th Anniversary Walter Mitty Challenge held at Road Atlanta.

Rain was the order of the day for Thursday's testing.

"This was our first time running at Road Atlanta and it definitely lived up to the hype," said Sarian. " Race day weather was projected to be sunny but testing was only available in the rain. Wow, coming over the blind-peak on the hill that drops onto the straightaway, television doesn't do it justice; it was like driving a roller coaster."

"Unfortunately a couple bent wheels that made it through tire mount and balance undetected hampered our qualifier. This made the car very unstable and pulled to the right going down the long back straight, which slowed us down even further."

"During the race we lost an engine mount, this caused the transmission and shifter to move to the right…it made for difficult shifts and I even spun late in the race from a missed shift."

"With all that said, to be where we are this early in the season is promising but we definitely have some work to do to catch the leaders."

SarWood Racing would like to thank the series sponsors for giving us the opportunity to compete. Also, Zamp Helmets, 3R Auto, iValueRich.com, 1st-Trade, LPCS and WrapWorks for being partners in our quest for the championship.
