With an 11th place finish at Miller Motorsports Park, SarWood Racing's Chris Sarian finished 15th in overall points for the SCCA Pro Racing Sirius Satellite Radio MX-5 Cup season.

I can't believe the season is already over...looking back, each race has so many different memories attached. Coming out of the box in Houston with a top-ten finish really started the season off "on the right foot". But we soon learned that having only a couple twenty-minute practice sessions before qualifying at each new track would make life difficult. With the help of a Title Sponsor, having a testing budget will make a huge difference in how we perform.

Road Atlanta was probably my favorite track, the rolling hills made for great elevation changes on the track, and though we had mechanical issues to contend with, we still pulled-out a 14th place finish.

Leguna Seca proved to be the master of my domain but learning the cork-screw has been a dream for some time. The track was another set of up and down hill runs with amazing off camber turns.

Portland brought the rain but we had our best qualifying run. The track was fast and Hale Motorsports/Petron Tequila driver Bill Sweedler and I had a great back and forth run until an unfortunate spin in the last turn trying to setup the pass.

Cleveland was a surprise city, the people were great and the city in the summer was really a beautiful place to race. With great starts on both race days, we landed a 12th place finish on Friday and went from 25th to 9th by the end of turn one on Saturday. The ABS bug finally caught up with us and it was extremely difficult to drive the car with the front brakes locking up - with flat spotted front tires, we had to make a pit stop so car engineer Steve Estrada could change a tire.

Trois-Rivieres, Canada was truly the most race inspired weekend of the season. The people are serious race fans and the city lives for this race every year. Having the opportunity to take the car down main street and meet-and-greet was a blast along with "lighting-up" the tires on the way back to the track; thousands of people lined the streets which made for a memorable evening. The race itself was intense and we were making our way up the field before the turn-one barrier ended the day. Still, we made enough laps in the race to get finishing points.

Miller, what can you say, a new world class track and with twenty-four turns over 4.5 miles, a real challenge. The team had a chance for a testing day and it payed- off with an 11th place finish. Also at MMP, Steve and I had the chance to test- drive the new Ford Mustang race package set-up for the Mustang Challenge Series for 2008. The series will be a similar spec series to the MX-5 Cup and will run many of the same race weekends and provide its own television package.

The Team would like to thank all the Series Sponsors for making this race season possible. In addition, our partners that supported us - 1st Trade, LPCS, Zamp Helmets, 3R Auto, iValueRich and WrapWorks.
